NEWSLETTER for March 2000 |
FOR GOD AND COUNTRY |
COMMANDER’S CORNER
Everybody seemed to have a good time at the Valentine's dance last month. We also had a great attendance at Las Vegas Night.
I would like to thank Kathy for a great job in decorating the lounge for the dance, and other events at the Post. Good job. Also, thanks to everyone who helped make Las Vegas Night such a success.
We at Post 95 have always come together when something needs to be done.....and we get it done. Now, I am calling on you again. I would like each of you to sign up a new member. Ask your friends, neighbors, or co-workers to become a member of our Post, if they are eligible.
Starting March 1 through April 21, every time you sign up a new member, your name will be put in the box making you eligible to win a prize. The prize will be announced at this monthly meeting, and will be given away during next month's meeting on April 21. So, let's work together in making our membership goal. It can be done!
Don't forget about making your reservations for the State Convention to be held June 16-18. Rooms will go fast.
For God and Country,
Jim Ratcliffe, Commander

HONOR GUARD NEWS
I want to give Joey Bates of our Post 95 a well deserved salute for helping me to remove over a pickup truck of faded, tattered, worn and dirty American Flags to our burial grounds. As an American Legion Post, I say we receive many, many of the above flags from our Veteran’s Bridge, private homes, and businesses. We will have a flag retirement ceremony as our weather warms up.
