guests from their Harrison base to Ross's landing on May 11, 2002 Page Two
Moving down the Tennessee River at eight miles per hour, the cutter kicks up a wake as guests are free to move around the deck. Visits to the pilot house were part of the tour.
Crew members of the cutter go through a drill of placing a navigational buoy in the Tennessee River.
Nearing the end of the cruise, the cutter moves forward to go under Walnut Street Bridge and then Market Street Bridge.
Chow enjoyed by this group of the 40 guests who made the tour after docking at Ross's Landing. On the menu were hot dogs, pork and beans, macaroni salad and potato chips along with soft drinks.
Everything was informal for the trip as Beth Orsborne and Bart Crattie enjoy their Coast Guard chow at Ross's Landing.
Docked at Ross's Landing the cutter reaches the end of the tour. Guests were transported by bus back to the Coast Guard station in Harrison to pick up their vehicles. The trip took approximately one hour. (Photos by Pete Chaney, IPS Features) Go to Page Three of Quachita trip. Return to Page One of Quachita trip.
