Bruce Plante, Chattanooga Times Free Press, May 2, 2002

This cartoon by award winning cartoonist Bruce Plante aptly depicts the status of Republican Van Hilleary and Democrat Phil Bredesen in their campaigns for their party's gubernatorial nomination in Tennessee.  Both are campaigning only on an anti-income tax platform, with no other solutions.  Jim Henry is the only candidate among the leaders to face the reality that there is a budget problem in the state and it must be resolved by action instead of empty campaign promises.
